Lottie Harland : Ocean SailorI am 18 years old and since the age of 8 have grown up in and around boats and racing. I reached the top levels of junior and youth dinghy racing, being selected by the RYA for their National Junior and National Youth squads (Laser Radial) and have represented my country at numerous international events.

Following my success in dinghy racing I then transitioned into my long-term desire for yacht racing where I was quickly selected by the RYA to join the British Keelboat Academy (BKA) which supports young successful sailors aged between 18 and 24 in developing the skills needed to take their keelboat yacht racing to a professional level.

Last year, during my first full year of yacht racing, I crewed in the winter and spring inshore series of events in the Solent, some Junior Offshore Group (JOG) events and other prestigious events such as Cowes Week and Round the Island. This year, alongside winter training with the BKA, I have been crewing again in the winter inshore series in the Solent and I have a schedule of inshore and offshore races lined up through this year, primarily aboard NJOS, a Corby 35 racing yacht, on which I will be helm.

Through this website you can find out much more about me, my sailing exploits and plans, and my progress in this great sport from the first time out on my Dad's Enterprise, through Optimists, Toppers and Lasers, to where I am today in keelboats.
